HALFMANHALF – Son of Sam (Feat. Illmaculate & OnlyOne)

After hitting us with “Doses” a few months ago, HALFMANHALF links up with Sandpeople alumni Illmaculate and OnlyOne on the Theory Hazit produced “Son of Sam.” With such an impressive lineup, it’s a little disappointing that this latest track feels a little rushed and unpolished, especially with the mixing (think of Blu’s lo-fi stuff, just not as unbearable). There’s no word yet on when his follow-up to Glow is going to be released, so maybe there’s still time to rework the song and come up with something that doesn’t sound as raw. Nevertheless, seeing Theory Hazit getting production credit on yet another single has me wondering if this new album, similar to Glow, will be handled by a single producer. Only time will tell, but for now, “Son of Sam” can be streamed or purchased on Bandcamp.
