Aesop Rock’s upcoming album The Impossible Kid is still a month away, but he’s managing to keep fans satiated until they can finally get their hands on it. Following the release of “Rings” and “Untouchable,” today we received the album’s second single, “Blood Sandwich.” The track is kind of somber in both tone and lyrics as Aesop recounts two stories from his past involving his brothers. It feels more like a moment of quiet reflection when compared to some of the more esoteric material he’s released in the past, but the second verse still hits you like a freight train. Considering the subject matter of these singles, one can only assume The Impossible Kid is going to be Aesop’s most personal album to date, and if that’s the case, I can’t wait. The album can be pre-ordered from Fifth Element or just about any digital platform, and “Blood Sandwich” can be found below.
