Keeping up with their current string of singles, the legendary Rhymesayers duo has recruited Grieves for their latest song, “Fireflies.” A moody, almost frustrated tune where both emcees paint an image of sitting alone in the bar of the night. Slug comes off as someone whose intoxication is doing little good for his confidence as he contemplates his shortcomings, whereas Grives gives off the impression that he has accepted the fact that this is his safe haven. It’s an interesting track, and Ant provides the perfect backdrop with this incredibly eerie beat that features a chilling vocal sample, which is accompanied by some surprisingly tasteful auto-tune by Slug on the hook. If any of that sounds enticing to you, you can stream the song on Soundcloud below, or purchase it on your preferred digital platform.
