Well, if I may be blunt, this news fucking sucks.
After nearly 20 years of making music, Yellowcard has decided to call it quits. Following the release of Lift a Sail in 2014, their tenth studio album, appropriately deemed a self-titled record, will mark an end to the band’s career. The news came by way of a post on their website on Friday, which also coincided with the release of the album’s first single, “Rest in Peace.” I’ve always been a casual observer of the band, popping in and out here and there, but they helped me during a tough time post-high school, and Paper Walls still remains a staple in my album rotation.
You can watch the music video for “Rest in Peace” below and pre-order the new album on the band’s online store.
