Gorillaz Triumphantly Return with “Hallelujah Money”

It’s been five years since we last heard Gorillaz on “DoYaThing,” and after a long string of teases last year, it looks like Damon is finally ready to kick off the new album cycle. Because today, fans of the animated group were given a brand new single by the name of “Hallelujah Money,” which is said to be a precursor to the album, insinuating it won’t actually make the cut. Word of advice, though: if you’re looking for something catchy and fun, don’t. “Hallelujah Money” is a slow tune accompanied by some creepy opera vocals from Benjamin Clementine. It’s completely out of left field and not at all what I was expecting going in, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t love it. Give it a listen down below.
