DviousMindZ – “Prayers”

I may be 48 hours late on this, but better late than never, right?

Although DviousMindZ has been hitting us with new music on a weekly basis since he dropped “Depleted Patience” in February, last week’s track, “New Hope,” was the start of something bigger: his Flower City Spring playlist. Thankfully, the playlist continues this week with “Prayers,” a surprisingly somber tune that stands in stark contrast to the almost ironically jazzy sound found on “New Hope.” Unfortunately, as much as I love the earworm that is that snare drum, “Prayers” might be the blandest beat Dvious has put out this year. While I find the opening piano keys to be kind of pretty, for me personally, this simply doesn’t stack up to the other material we’ve received these past few months. Still, nine out of ten? Not a bad batting average.

We’ll have to see where Flower City Spring goes next on Sunday, but for now, “Prayers” can be heard below.
