Jeff Rosenstock – “Dramamine”

As his 2016 album WORRY. remains in constant rotation, Jeff Rosenstock released a new single over the weekend, “Dramamine.” This is, um, unexpected, I guess? Considering just how punchy, catchy, and irresistible his latest album was and continues to be, I’m a little surprised that Rosenstock thought it would be a good idea to release something this drab, under-written, and sloppy. I mean, the song is about nausea medicine… Why? If done correctly, this could have been funny in an ironic sort of way, but it’s just really boring, in my opinion, and it lacks the character that helped make WORRY. one of the best records of 2016. Maybe it’s just me, though. Give it a listen on Bandcamp below.
